Cowboys 3 WR Targets in Free Agency: Would Chiefs Mecole Hardman Help Dak Prescott?

Wide receiver is one of the biggest needs for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. Here are a trio of possible free agent helpers for Dak Prescott.

The Dallas Cowboys have entered the offseason with a couple of positions in mind that will need strengthening; potentially atop the list is wide receiver.

The Cowboys and the Joneses have come under scrutiny for their decision last offseason to trade away former No. 1 wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

That lack of production (not counting the Pro Bowler CeeDee Lamb) in the wake of that move had them chasing ideas all year long.

Time for more ideas.

Odell Beckham Jr.

While at the Senior Bowl this week, Jones confirmed that the Cowboys still intend on trying to land Beckham

OBJ missed the entire 2022 season as he was recovering from his ACL injury in last year's Super Bowl. Despite taking visits to three teams late in the season, one of which was with the Cowboys, Beckham remained a free agent as red flags were raised from his medicals.

Adding Beckham over the offseason will give Dallas time to help him complete his rehab, along with getting him acclimated with the offense.

Mecole Hardman

The former University of Georgia product hasn't live up to expectations in Kansas City after the Chiefs traded away Tyreek Hill in the offseason. But the reason for Hardman never really producing the numbers is injury.

In his previous three seasons as a Chief, Hardman has shown he possesses an elite trait, speed, something the Cowboys lack. Signing Hardman would give them another weapon who can take the top off the defense with his legs or even contribute in the slot.

Jakobi Meyers

Many believe that the current New England Patriots wideout will be the top receiver on the market. Meyers, a former undrafted free agent, turned into the No. 1 option for the Patriots.

Predominantly playing in the slot, Meyers racked up 804 yards and six touchdowns on 67 receptions this past season. In Mike McCarthy's past as a play-caller, his ability to get the most out of his slot receivers is something that sticks out.

Meyers would give Dallas another strong route runner and a target that can put up numbers in the short and intermediate passing game.

Out of the three options, Meyers may come with the highest price tag after two productive seasons in New England.
