Giants' Saquon Barkley 'Needs' to Sign With Cowboys in Free Agency, Pleads Cole Beasley

As his relationship with the New York Giants falters, Saquon Barkley is being pushed to the Dallas Cowboys by brief teammate and former Poke Cole Beasley.

Revenge is a dish best served, Cole.

The fluctuating landscape in the NFC East could see several notable names on the move. Among them is Saquon Barkley, who has lived up to his high-profile billing with the New York Giants ... when he's healthy, of course.

In an era where the running back's value has been one of the NFL's most recurring talking points, the football world will monitor Barkley's fate with great interest. The Giants' lack of success with Barkley in the lineup (one playoff appearance since his arrival in 2018) could also lead to a change of address. Barkley played last season on a franchise tag worth just over $10 million.

Cole Beasley, Barkley's brief teammate, proposed a spicy idea on social media, suggesting that Barkley align himself with the Giants' biggest rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.

“Saquon, I need you to go to Dallas," Beasley said on X, tagging Barkley's account. "Getting to run it up on your old team who disrespected you is rejuvenating."

Beasley, who spent a few months on the Giants practice squad before a mutual parting of ways in October, would certainly know about taking revenge against a former employer: the former Cowboy infamously torched the Pokes for 110 yards and a touchdown as a Buffalo Bill in one of the most infamous Thanksgiving showings in franchise history back in 2019.

To that end, Barkley has frequently iterated his desires to spend his whole career in New York ... or New Jersey, as the case may be ... but the Giants might not feel the same considering recent trends.

Barkley has had his share of success against the Cowboys (mustering 869 yards and 4.8 a carry) but has yet to partake in a victorious effort: the Giants have posted an 0-10 record against their division rivals with 2018's second overall pick in the lineup. The Cowboys could be facing major questions at running back, as Tony Pollard (another franchise tag holder) did not live up to the expectations the team placed upon him after crowning him the undisputed top option last season.

With Barkley garnering at least eight figures for a one-year deal and the Cowboys having just written a hefty check for a middling year of Pollard, it doesn't feel like the two sides are a match. Barring some high-profile salary dumps, Beasley appears to be playing literal fantasy football, at least for the time being.
