Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott & CeeDee Lamb Meet to Discuss 'Frustrating Times'

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb has let his frustration come through this week, but quarterback Dak Prescott is helping them both move forward.

To say it's been a frustrating week for the Dallas Cowboys would be an understatement.

After their 42-10 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, the Cowboys have felt the mocking and criticism coming from every angle. Some, maybe even most, of that criticism is justified, but some of it is just adding onto the pile. Every Cowboy is feeling a sense of frustration, but perhaps none more so than receiver CeeDee Lamb.

In the days following the loss, Lamb was very vocal about his unhappiness with the offense, even answering "I don't know" when asked what the unit's identity is. Those comments have put Lamb under a spotlight, with even former players calling him out. Lamb also met with coach Mike McCarthy to try and work through these issues.

While Lamb is clearly experiencing some frustration, he can at least tank solace in the fact that quarterback Dak Prescott is always there for him. The two players met this week to work through any potential issues, with Prescott telling Lamb "If you have a problem with anything, just come up to me and we'll talk about it."

“I mean, a frustrated player/person that feels like we all could’ve done better and feels like he can change the game, I understand it," Dak said on Friday. "I really do. So it’s in the sense of just communicating with him. … CeeDee is a guy that I’ll never lose confidence in and trust who he is and understand why he’s frustrated.

"But at the end of the day, he’s a leader. It’s about him leading other guys and picking other guys up and him just trying to make sure we’re all pushing our best. That’s where the frustration, we have to remove that. And he will. He’s a young player that’s growing by the day and he’ll only get better. He’ll be better because of that. Frustrating times.”

After a career year in 2022, Lamb has had a relatively quiet start to the 2023 season. In five games, he has 27 receptions for 358 yards and a single touchdown. Aside from a 153-yard performance against the New York Jets in Week 2, Lamb hasn't had a truly great game this year.

That said, there's still two-thirds of the season left to go, and with Prescott by his side, it's fair to expect Lamb to bounce back sooner or later.
