Is Dak Prescott Still Confident in Dallas Cowboys Despite Back-To-Back Losses?

To paraphrase Charles Dickens at this Christmastime, "It was the best of times in Arlington, it was the worst of times pretty much everywhere else.''

After winning their previous five games, the Dallas Cowboys have now lost back-to-back games for the first time in over two years. The first of said losses came in a blowout to the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 17, while the second game in a heartbreaker against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Both of those games happened away from North Texas, fueling the narrative that the Cowboys can't win big games on the road.

Many are down on the Cowboys amidst their losing streak, but the spirit in the locker room has not been shaken. After Sunday's game, though, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott reaffirmed his confidence in the team despite some recent hiccups.

“The confidence is high with this group. We understand that we can (beat good teams on the road) … and we will," Dak said.

Two weeks ago, Prescott was widely seen as an MVP candidate after playing some of the best football of his career. Now though, he has largely fallen out of the conversation after throwing for just 387 yards, two touchdowns and an interception over the past two games. He's also taken a beating over that stretch, getting sacked seven times with a fumble.

As previously mentioned, the Cowboys' road woes have plagued them throughout the entire season. Their only road wins came against the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers and Carolina Panthers, who "boast" a combined record of 12-32. With their only remaining road game being against the lowly Washington Commanders in Week 18, the Cowboys will likely have to prove their mettle away from home in the playoffs.

Dak also said, "It's frustrating'' and "it sucks.'' So his optimism doesn't seem to be about sugarcoating or about denial.

Indeed ... While the recent losing streak has been a downer, the Cowboys still have everything they want to achieve in front of them, and that's what's keeping them going - and keeping their confidence high, according to their team leader.
