Dallas Cowboys: 'We Have The 'Good Guy' in MVP Race in QB Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles have MVP candidates in Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts, and safety Jayron Kearse says the Cowboys have the "good guy" in the discussion.

The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles "Sunday Night Football'' matchup will pit two MVP candidates -  Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts - against each other as both look to enhance their credentials further.

The Dallas Cowboys' Prescott has been in white-hot form over the last six weeks, and the Philadelphia Eagles' Hurts is doing what he does best - win football games.

The race for the MVP award is not necessarily exclusive. But the race is on.

“I haven't been in any game like this where you know it's been this close and two of the MVP front-runners,” Dallas safety Jayron Kearse said. “Hurts has the name, but the film these last couple weeks it all points towards Dak.

"So ... we have the good guy on our side.”

Kearse obviously doesn't mean to disparage Hurts, on two counts.

One - Nobody in the NFL has a bigger name than Dak Prescott, centerpiece of "America's Team.''

Two - While Dak is a verified "good guy,'' Kearse obviously means that the Cowboys are the "good guys'' here - because Hurts has actually conducted himself in his NFL career as a "good guy'' as well.

All in all? With the game having so much riding on it, as the NFC East lead, potentially the NFC lead, and even the MVP lead all up for grabs on Sunday night, the Cowboys and Eagles already fierce rivalry is set to go up a notch.

As the Cowboys have blossomed into a force since the San Francisco 49ers game, confidence is now oozing throughout the locker room.

For Kearse, just because it's a heavyweight clash against a 10-2 team, it doesn't change what the team expects on Sunday.

“This is a game ... that we should win,” Kearse said. “Yeah, it might be a little tougher, but we going to every game saying we should win this game. So that's just how we're walking around here.

"Our mentality is, 'We should win this game.''

The Cowboys have certainly found confidence in beating down the "lesser" teams on the schedule, but now, with the upcoming teams being able to give as good as they get, Dallas won't have things easy.

But with the "good guy" in the MVP race and confidence flowing through The Star, the Cowboys will fancy their chances of slaying the Eagles and taking control of the division in the process.
