Cowboys 'Private Workout at Pro Day' With Top NFL Draft Tackle?

Dallas Cowboys offensive line coach Mike Solari conducted a workout with Arizona tackle Jordan Morgan, a potential candidate for the team's first round draft selection.

As the Dallas Cowboys continue to navigate the pre-draft cycle, potential candidates are emerging to be the team's first round pick at No. 24 overall.

Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan has been one of the players most commonly associated with Dallas throughout the process - and more smoke has been added to the fire.

According to Sportskeeda, Morgan is "in play" for the Cowboys in the first round. The 22-year-old earned first team All-PAC-12 honors for the Wildcats this past season.

Cowboys offensive line coach Mike Solari joined two other teams - the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens - in putting Morgan through individual drills at both left and right tackle during his pro day.

Morgan's workout lasted nearly an hour and was still brought to an early end, as the rest of the Wildcats' prospects began their drill work. The site claims Morgan "basically had three private workouts rather than one pro day workout.''

We're not exactly sure what that means. But the report has Dallas line coach Mike Solari in the middle of the session. So "in play'' rings true.

The extensive look at Morgan left scouts impressed with his athleticism and convicted in his ability to play offensive tackle, leading to positive overall feedback.

Dallas isn't the only team interested in acquiring Morgan's services, as the Ravens (No. 30 overall), Kansas City Chiefs (No. 32) and Washington Commanders (No. 36) were all listed as teams considering him with their selection.

The 6-5, 312-pound Morgan played five years at Arizona and was a consistent starter for the last four. He was a second-team All-American selection by CBS Sports this past year.

Morgan has allowed only three sacks over the past two years, and while his 32 7/8-inch arms spark concern from teams, his tape and productivity tell otherwise.

With Tyron Smith off to the New York Jets, the Cowboys have a considerable void to fill at left tackle - and Morgan appears to be a viable candidate to step into those large shoes.
