Dallas Cowboys Prediction: Better Than Eagles, But Giants Win NFC East?

Predictions? They are futile. They are wasted space. A parasitic twin that burdens us all. Nobody knows what they're talking about! So here goes my predictions for the Dallas Cowboys and the NFC East ...

SAN ANTONIO - As a man who prides himself on being semi-decent at sports talk, one of the things I hate the most are predictions. They are futile. They are wasted space. A parasitic twin that burdens us all. Nobody knows what they're talking about!

Having gotten that out of the way ... my prediction segments are also one of the most commented-upon things I do. So, without further preface, I exhale a deep sigh, offer my soul to Satan and offer my 2023 predictions for the NFC East. ...

1. GIANTS 12-5 - Nobody repeats in the NFC East and I love New York's roster, QB Daniel Jones's development and the new coaching staff under Brian Daboll.

2. DALLAS 10-7 - Dak Prescott has one or two Pro Bowl-level seasons in him and the talented defense will be asked to win a few themselves as coach Mike McCarthy installs himself into his new "Texas Coast Offense'' ... and by the way, will that take a little time to accomplish? We start finding out about these two teams on "Sunday Night Football'' here in Week 1. ... and then, much later, we find out if Dallas is going to "defecate into its own helmet'' in the playoffs.

3. PHILADELPHIA 9-8 - Congrats, Eagles. You went to the Super Bowl. Your reward the following season is a tougher schedule, more injuries and less breaks go your way. I want to see Jalen Hurts play that well two years in a row before I call him "elite.'' ... and I wonder about a "Super Bowl hangover'' as an obstacle. (P.S.: Smart Eagles watchers in Philly are wondering some of the same things.)

4. WASHINGTON 6-11 - I love the new vibe in D.C. I love coach Ron Rivera. I love his defense (especially if Chase Young is healthy) and his skill players outside of course, quarterback. And even then, it all sounds so promising ... Until the Commanders figure that out they are fourth in arguably the best division in the NFL.
