Ezekiel Elliott 'Absolutely' Wants to Play vs. Cowboys with New Team - Source

Is there room for just a little "personal feelings'' tucked inside "the business decision'' as Ezekiel Elliott moves on from the Cowboys?

FRISCO - Ezekiel Elliott, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys a week ago, is about to make a business decision, as he reportedly has a chance to sign with the Eagles, Jets or Bengals. (It turns out that ESPN's story is wrong ... but we plow on ...)

But is there room for just a little "personal feelings'' tucked inside "the business decision''?

Zeke, according to a source who is close to the two-time NFL rushing champ, "absolutely'' wants to play against the Cowboys in 2023.

Call it "revenge'' or call it "drama'' or maybe it would just be fun to compete against old pals like Dallas QB Dak Prescott and a host of other Cowboys who consider Elliott a pal.

But yes, "Zeke vs. the Cowboys'' is at some level part of Elliott's thinking. And guess what? Maybe it's happenstance, but two of the three finalists on Elliott's wish list are indeed on Dallas' 2023 NFL schedule.

The Bengals running back depth chart is led by Joe Mixon, but he's been involved in some legal drama. But the Buckeye Zeke back in Ohio? Makes sense.

The Bengals, however, don't play Dallas.

There are the Eagles, of course, who by virtue of being in the NFC East will play Dallas twice. Their running back room currently includes Rashaad Penny, Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell and Trey Sermon. ... so it's a little crowded.

And there are the Jets, who are on Dallas' 2023 schedule. Oddly, though, Jets running backs Breece Hall and Michael Carter have already rudely gone public with their wish that Elliott not be signed to join them. (Call it "The GM Aaron Rodgers Effect.'')

For now, none of those three teams seem involved, as it turns out this might be "Adam Schefter's list'' ... but is certainly not a list of teams that have offered contracts to Zeke.

Elliott, in the end, will surely make a business decision. Where can he win, get snaps and get paid? But his circle is telling us this: Part of an "attractive destination'' here includes a way to have some fun "revenge'' against the Cowboys team that gave up on him.
