FRISCO - Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott has filed a civil lawsuit against a woman who has accused him of sexual assault while demanding $100 million in exchange for not reporting the alleged incident to police in what Prescott's lawyers are calling an "extortion plot'' ...

All the result of what the woman and her lawyers are calling "rape.''

Prescott filed his suit against a DFW-area woman named Victoria Shores and her lawyers on Monday, with attorney Levi McCathern saying, "Mr. Prescott ... has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault. He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual sexual conduct with anyone."

But Shores, in an interview with WFAA, explained her claim and the reason she's waited this long to come forward about the alleged February 2017 incident, saying, ""I was just scared of what he could do if he could ruin my life. If I could get fired from where I was working I don’t know him I don’t know what he’s capable of but I know he’s a big time football player and I know what’s happening now is exactly what I was afraid of.''

Shores is speaking of the public backlash she's now getting as a result of the case. Said Shores attorney Bethel Zehaie: We stand by the truth. Dak and his lawyers are trying to be bullies and play hardball and victim blame. We are not afraid of the truth. She has had to attend therapy and endure trauma because of the sexual assault. This young lady was in absolute tears in my office.

"Dak needs to be held accountable for his behavior. We are not afraid of him or his legal team."

Prescott's side has denied the allegations that he sexually assaulted the woman in question, calling it "a completely fabricated story." McCathern said, "She was a waitress at a bar he frequented. She came out one night with a group of friends and met Mr. Prescott and then spent an evening where they went numerous locations."

"He was a single guy at the time, and I would call it a make-out session," he said.

McCathern said Prescott (who with girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos recently became a first-time father) and the woman did continue to have social interactions for a few years, and that those were amicable.

"This completely came out of the blue," he said. "He didn't remember at first who this was. He had to dig it up, but he said 'Oh yes, I remember her.'"

In the suit filed against the woman, Prescott's legal team accuses her and her legal team of a "blatant attempt" to extort Prescott by weaponizing "patently false, yet heinous sexual assault allegations with no basis in reality."

Charges listed against the woman and attorney in the suit as a result of her letter to Prescott asking for $100 million include defamation and slander, civil extortion/duress, business disparagement, civil conspiracy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

"The Defendant's false claims undermine the courage of actual sexual assault survivors everywhere, as well as the legitimacy of the horrific traumas they have endured," McCathern wrote in a statement, which asks for a trial by jury and notes that Prescott is committed to donating any and all recovery obtained through the lawsuit filed to the Joyful Heart Foundation, a nonprofit which aids survivors of sexual assault.

Zehaie, in an interview with 105.3 The Fan, attempted to explain the $100 million ask in the letter.

“Well, what’s the price that you can put on a rape?” said Zehaie. “The trauma that comes from that. The humiliation that comes from that. There’s not a price tag you can put on that. So to be honest, I don’t think 100 million was out of the realm of possibility.”
