The Dallas Cowboys are coming off back-to-back 12-win seasons for the first time since 1994 and 1995, but will that continue with head coach Mike McCarthy now calling the plays and Brian Schottenheimer as the offensive coordinator?

Winning 12 games in the NFL is tricky, but looking ahead to next year, will the Cowboys' schedule see them hit that mark again?

CBS Sports' Will Brunson doesn't think so, as he writes the Cowboys will finish with a 10-7 record.

"Dallas could have easily won 11 or 12 games in my projection," Bruson writes. "I still have hesitations about the offense with Mike McCarthy focusing on running the football. If everything clicks, they can be dominant but dialing back the offense doesn't feel like the move with their personnel."

Looking at the Cowboys' schedule, they have some tricky games to navigate next season. McCarthy's team plays the Jets, 49ers, Chargers, Seahawks, Bills, Dolphins, Detroit, and two games against the Eagles.

Dallas is tied for the fourth hardest schedule next season, as their opponents have a combined record of 156-128-4 from last season.

The NFC East will again be where Dallas will need to show consistent form as the division is no longer the laughingstock of the NFL. The Eagles are going nowhere, and the New York Giants and Washington Commanders are expected to improve.

The division will be anything but a cakewalk for Dallas, and its margin for error is limited. With Dak Prescott leading the way for a revamped offense and a defense that looks again like a serious unit, the Cowboys have all the pieces to make a deep playoff run.

But first, they have to navigate the regular season and their division, both of which are one of the more challenging assignments in football.
