FRISCO - Long ago, the Dallas Cowboys committed to wearing white jerseys at home, bucking an NFL-wide trend that still exists today.

But in 2019? Dallas hopes to be a Rhapsody in Blue.

This news might bother fans who mistakenly think their is a "Blue Jersey Jinx'' -- our buddy Mark Lane reports that the Cowboys are 67-70-1 all-time while wearing blue, which isn't particularly good but also shouldn't mean they should have to burn the things -- but in 2019, the Cowboys will play half their games in their blue jerseys.

As ESPN was first to note, the Cowboys will wear blue jerseys with silver pants at Washington, at New Orleans, at the Jets, at the Giants, at Detroit and at Chicago. They also will their blue jerseys with white pants at home against the Vikings and the Rams. And then come the "Color Rush'' uniforms, white-on-white, which the Cowboys will wear against Miami and at New England.

Who likes what is, of course, a matter of taste. The "Color Rush'' uniforms are odd to me because they are actually an absence of color ... I'm not sure I see the point. And the shades of blue that the Cowboys use in their various versions of "blue'' over the years are not very consistent, which I also find odd. And even Dallas' traditional silver pants vary from era to era in terms of what qualifies as "silver.''

But the uniform varieties do sell. People buy these jerseys, and buy multiple ones, I suppose, when there are multiple options. And that's part of what all of this is about, really, right?

All of this gives Dallas a chance to bob above .500 while wearing blue ... or, if 2019 ends up being a disappointment, to blame the owner, the coach, the QB ... and the blue jerseys.
