‘Stop It!’ Cowboys Ex Deion Sanders Offers ‘Prime’ Advice to Lamar Jackson
PHOENIX - Deion Sanders understands a great deal about controlling Football finances and about controlling the message.
And he’s offering some free-of-charge advice to in-limbo quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“Stop explaining Yourself to fools and allow fools to be fools,” the former Dallas Cowboys great wrote to the Baltimore Ravens star vis Twitter. “A brother trying that’s strong, believes in himself and willing to stand for what he believes will always be misunderstood & judged by fools of all ethnicities.
“Love ya my brother and ‘I Believe in You!’ #CoachPrime,” Sanders wrote.
The latest issue as Jackson tries to work through a franchise tag deal that would pay him $32 million for 2023 - far below his market value - has to do with what his supporters might term “propaganda.”
Suddenly there is a media movement to suggest that though he suffered a sprained PCL in Week 12 of last season, he could’ve and should’ve fought throw it to help his team into and in the playoffs.
Jackson instead sat out the remainder of the season and now come the accusations that he did so to avoid further injury and to protect his future payday.
Lamar’s tweeted response: “I don’t remember me sitting out on my guys week 1 vs jets To week 12 vs Broncos. How come all of a sudden I sit out because of money in which I could’ve got hurt at anytime within that time frame When we know the Super Bowl been on my mind since April 2018?”
Jackson, working without an agent, has asked Baltimore to trade him while at the same time continuing to visit with the Ravens.
“I’m in great spirits at all times, Jackson wrote. “If you know me, you know.”
Jackson’s spirits will surely be lifted further when this contract dispute gets settled. in the meantime, maybe it gives him a lift to know he has the support of Deion Sanders.
