Breaking: Randall Cobb is OUT, leaving Cooper and Gallup as WRs for Cowboys at Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The Dallas Cowboys’ receiving corps has been injury-plagued throughout this early NFL season, the latest example being Randall Cobb, who missed the end of the practice week and is now officially inactive here today for this meeting with the Jets.
Receiver Michael Gallup returned to action last week after missing two games following his knee scope. Amari Cooper has performed at an All-Pro level while battling a series of injuries since training camp. They will carry the load today without the complement to them in the form of Cobb, in his first season as Dallas’ slot receiver after a stellar career in Green Bay.
Cobb spent the week dealing with a back injury and a source even termed his absence as “precautionary.” But he was a "did not practice'' on Thursday and Friday and entered the weekend listed as "questionable'' for today.

Cobb, who this year has 17 catches for 210 yards and one touchdown through five games, will not be able to benefit from participating against a winless Jets team that could have its hands full with Cooper (on pace for over 1,600 yards and 16 TDs) and Gallup (in line for a 1,000-yard season) and maybe Tavon Austin in Cobb's role. Dallas, however, is weakened on offense elsewhere as starting tackles Tyron Smith and La'el Collins are out today due to injury.
