Cowboys lose at Saints - and may lose Tyron Smith to ankle injury

NEW ORLEANS - Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith limped out of the Superdome in a walking boot on his right foot, the result of what the Dallas Cowboys believe could be a high-ankle sprain.
Smith, one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, was injured on Dallas’ final desperation possession in what would be a 12-10 loss to the Saints. Team owner Jerry Jones is the person who termed Smith’s injury to be a high-ankle sprain based on the brief and preliminary information provided to him by the team’s medical staff.
Smith was rolled into on the final drive after a sack of QB Dak Prescott ... then remained on the sideline for a time before eventually joining him teammates in the locker room, moving slowly but under his own power.
Smith, a key performer on a Dallas team that now DT was replaced in the game by swing tackle Cameron Fleming, in his second year in Dallas after having been a part-time starter in New England. Fleming will be the replacement for Smith in Week 5 pending Smith undergoing testing on Monday to determine the seriousness of the injury.
