EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - For a moment there, Amari Cooper's start to a game in New York seemed reminiscent of Amari Cooper's last start to a game in New York, when he barely got started at all.

“This was a good feeling,” Cooper said in the locker room after his Dallas Cowboys' 37-18 win at the Giants. "Last time was a horrible feeling, because I wasn't able to help my team - and we lost.''

"Last time,'' because Cooper on Oct. 13 was dealing with a quad bruise and ended up exiting a game in this same MetLife building after played just three snaps in a 24-22 loss to the Jets. This time it was a nagging knee injury that he told me "locked up'' on him during a mid-week practice. He vowed to himself to not let the Jets problem repeat itself.

"“I didn’t think I would tweak it today because it was fine,” Cooper said. “But you know, things happen.”

What happened here: Cooper pitched in just enough to help Dallas move to 5-3, contributing with his 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown with 7:56 remaining in the game.

"It's such a weird thing, especially at wide receiver,'' Cooper said. "You can't hide the injuries. You have to make the plays.''

Cooper was just healthy enough to make pretty much just one play ... and it was pretty much just enough.
