ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys lead the Miami Dolphins 10-6 at halftime here at AT&T Stadium with maybe the most notable play a violent collision between Dallas safety Jeff Heath and his former Cowboysr teammate, Miami receiver Allen Hurns.

Various observers chimed in on social media to instantly deem Heath hit as "dirty.'' The refs obviously didn't think so ... and more replays of the play reveal that Heath was likely going for both the ball and the man, as opposed to targeting Hurns' helmet.

Hurns - who of course last left the AT&T Stadium as a member of the Cowboys when his gruesome leg injury forced him out of the playoff win over Seattle, was ruled out of this game with a concussion.

That chips away at a Miami roster already short on "developed talent.'' though to Miami's credit that 23-point spread isn't happening ... yet.

Dallas' top receiver, Amari Cooper, did get himself a TD catch in the first half. But the Cowboys aren't putting up numbers here ...

Except for with a few ticks left on the first-half clock, when the Dallas D came up with a big red-zone takeaway. But the 10-6 lead for the Cowboys remains a disappointment for some.
