FRISCO - Within minutes, we saw it happen again. Like two boxers, the combatants moved swiftly to their corners, arched their backs, bowed their necks and pounded their gloves together, ready for a fight. ...

Each side in the argument about gun violence in America once again forgetting that the enemy isn't the citizen with an opinion.

The enemy is the the gunman, in this case a reported trio of them, who descended on a joyous day in Kansas City, site of the Chiefs Super Bowl parade, and as a result of their evil act, at least one person is dead and 21 others - including children - have been wounded.

As we discuss in the Fish Report and the Fish Podcast, can we all at least agree on one thing? One thing: We're doing it wrong.

And for my money? We just witnessed The Very Last Super Bowl Victory Parade.

We need to come to one essential agreement, regardless of how much I love my guns and my rights to own them and regardless of how dangerously atrociously irresponsible you might think gun ownership is - or vice versa.

We have to be able to to agree that we’re doing it wrong.

We have to be able to agree that this isn’t just about "my rights.'' It's about money and politics and power. "Tighter laws''? "Mental health checks''? "What if only the bad guys have guns?'' "We can't let the terrorists win!''?

I know. I know. I do not pretend to have the answers. But as I'm watching kids running the other way down the streets of Kansas City wearing their No. 15 Patrick Mahomes jerseys … screaming ... crying ... getting shot at ... I'm betting they don’t care about our gun law debate.

Patrick Mahomes 'Praying' For Kansas City After Fatal Shooting

And I'm left not with an answer, but with a question: If and when the Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl next year … How am I gonna explain to my grandkids that I absolutely forbid them from going to the Super Bowl victory parade?
