Giants Sign Receiver Bennie Fowler, Release Linebacker Nate Stupar

The Giants have signed receiver Bennie Fowler to their 53-man roster.
Fowler appeared in four games with two starts for the Giants this season and caught 12 passes for 99 yards.
He was one of two players, the other being receiver TJ Jones, who had his contract terminated by the team two weeks ago when the Giants needed to create room to add receiver Golden Tate, who was coming back from suspension, and inside linebacker Josiah Tauaefa.
Fowler's return provides additional depth at receiver, where the Giants are currently waiting to see what happens with Sterling Shepard.
Shepard, who has 25 receptions for 267 yards and one touchdown, was placed in the concussion protocol last week for the second time in three weeks after the receiver showed up for work displaying symptoms associated with a concussion.
A source said that Shepard "could miss some time" being that this was his second time in the protocol this season.
To make room for Fowler, the Giants terminated the contract of linebacker Nate Stupar, whom they brought back a couple of weeks ago to provide depth to a linebacker unit that had been banged up.
Stupar appeared in three games for the Giants this season with one start, recording four tackles.
