New York Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas, who was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident last month in Chico, California, has had charges filed against him by the Butte County district attorney’s office.

Mike Ramsey, the Butte County, California’s district attorney, told Giants Country Thursday afternoon that in addition to being charged with a hit-and-run offense, the 25-year-old Rosas is facing one count each of reckless driving, and operating a vehicle on a suspended license related to a previous DUI.

Rosas was arrested on June 15 by the Chico, California highway patrol for a misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving while on a suspended license.

Per the police report, the NFL kicker, who allegedly was driving 100 miles per hour and who also allegedly ran a red light, was said to have fled the scene on foot after t-boning a Ford pickup truck in his black SUV.

The police report also described that the responding officers unsuccessfully attempted to locate Rosas at his house, only to later find him at the original scene with his hands, legs, and bare feet covered in blood.

Rosas was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police report also suspected alcohol as being involved in the incident.

Rosa, who earlier this off-season signed a second-round tender worth $3.259 million, is coming off a down year in which he made 12 of 17 field goals and 35 of 39 extra points after making the Pro Bowl in 2018.

His case is due to be heard in a California court on September 4. The Giants have not issued any statements regarding Rosas’ issues other than to acknowledge they were aware of the initial reports of Rosas’ alleged involvement in the accident.

Even if the charges are dismissed, Rosas could be subject to discipline by the league under the Personal Conduct Policy.
