Giants at Eagles Set for Christmas Day

This will be the Giants first-ever game on Christmas day.

The New York Giants can give their fan base a special gift on Christmas Day if they can defeat the opponent that the league has them playing that afternoon.

That would be the hated Philadelphia Eagles, whom the Giants will visit for a 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Monday, December 25, 2023. That game is one of a handful, along with the Black Friday (Jets at Dolphins) and the international slate of games announced by the league on Wednesday.

The Eagles hold a slight lead over the Giants in the all-time regular season series with the Giants, 86-90-2, but the Eagles have dominated the series dating back to the 2009 season with a 22-5 mark against the Giants.

The last time the Giants won back-to-back games against their rivals was in 2020-2021 when New York won the second regular-season game of the 2020 season 27-17 and then the first regular-season game of the 2021 season 13-7.

The Giants are also 2-3 against the Eagles in the postseason, the most recent loss coming last year in the NFC Divisional playoff round, a 38-7 Eagles blowout.

The Christmas Day meeting with the Eagles, who swept the Giants in three games last year, including the NFC Divisional title round, will be New York's first-ever game played on Christmas since the league first began scheduling games on the holiday back in 1971.

This will be the second year in a row that the Giants are scheduled to play on a major holiday. Last year, the Giants faced the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, a game the Giants lost 28-20.
