Giants Host OL Justin Pugh for Workout

In this story:
The New York Giants, who spent the last few days in Arizona following their Week 2 game against the Cardinals, hosted former offensive lineman Justin Pugh for a workout.
With injuries along the offensive line, the Giants tried out a familiar face: veteran G Justin Pugh.

Pugh, 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds was selected out of Syracuse in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Giants with the 19th overall pick, making Pugh the highest player selected in the draft out of Syracuse since defensive end Dwight Freeny was chosen No. 11 overall in 2002 by the Colts.
A versatile lineman able to play every position except center, Pugh was with the Giants through the 2017 season, which was cut short by a back injury, causing him to miss five games.
He signed with the Arizona Cardinals during the 2018 off-season but suffered a knee injury in Week 10, ending his first campaign in the desert.
More recently, Pugh suffered a torn ACL in Week 6 of the 2022 season, which he's been trying to work his way back from.
Pugh perked Giants fans attention this past off-season when someone questioned if he might be interested in joining the Jets.
I gotta check in with my @giants first 👀. https://t.co/aPGLnyPHcx

Pugh has been a solid offensive lineman in his career who has unfortunately dealt with multiple injuries, including knee, shoulder, back, and neck ailments.
But in 4,720 pass-blocking snaps, he's allowed 232 pressures and 24 sacks and hasn't allowed more than 21 pressures in a season since 2017, his final year with the Giants.
The Giants have some injuries along their offensive line, including Andrew Thomas' hamstring and Ben Bredeson's concussion, but both are expected to recover sooner rather than later.
It's unclear if the team is simply doing due diligence on Pugh or if there is a legitimate interest in signing him perhaps to the practice squad in the coming days so he can work his way into football shape in the event he's needed down the line.
