New York Giants Week 2 Injury Report: Andrew Thomas Won't Practice

In this story:
According to head coach Brian Daboll, the New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) won't practice on Wednesday.
The Giants are taking it cautiously with Thomas, their best offensive lineman and one of their most important players, especially with two games coming up in a span of four days.
The Giants hope to have Thomas, whom Daboll characterized as "day to day," for their Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Still, with a long flight on tap, a game set to be played in 100+-degree heat, and another game on tap four days later, there is a possibility that Thomas will be held out of Sunday's game.
Daboll indicated that they have options at left tackle, including second-year man Joshua Ezeudu, who stepped in at the position Sunday night against the Cowboys after Thomas left the game and his initial replacement, Matt Peart, had to leave the game due to an injury of his own.
"He did good," Daboll said of Ezeudu's stint at left tackle. "He's been practicing there for a while. You guys haven't seen it, but we practice him, move guys around, and he's certainly an option at that spot, too. "
However, one option that isn't being considered should Thomas not be able to play is moving Evan Neal from right tackle to left side.
"I'd say we got enough guys to go out there and get some reps," Daboll said of the Giants options at left tackle if Thomas can't play. "So, we'll look at it here in the next few days."
In other injury news, kicker Graham Gano (ankle) will be limited in Wednesday's practice but added that he believed the kicker will be fine. The Giants, thus far at least, are not thought to have brought in kickers for tryouts, an indication that they are not overly worried about Gano being unable to play Sunday against Arizona.
Daboll also revealed that tight end Darren Waller, who last week popped up on the injury report with a hamstring issue (the same hamstring that ended his season early last year), will receive a "veteran's day" of rest every week for the rest of the season.
"That's something we've planned all along, even since we got him," Daboll said. "Those guys that are over 30 and have had a lot of wear and tear that have played, we're gonna give him a, give him a rest day. It'll probably be once a week."
Waller did not receive a rest day last week, however, not showing up on the injury report until Friday, when his hamstring tightened up on him.
Receiver Sterling Shepard (knee) will also get a veteran's rest day for the season, though his will be on Thursday, per Daboll.
The rest of the Giants injury report, all of whom were listed as limited:
- DB Deonte Banks - Calf
- LB Cam Brown - Ankle
- DB Cor’Dale Flott - Hamstring
- PK Graham Gano - Right Ankle
- LB Azeez Ojulari - Hamstring
- DB Gervarrius Owens - Hamstring
- OL Matt Peart - Elbow
- WR Wan’Dale Robinson - Knee
Robinson, from what I've heard, is aiming for Week 3. Gano should be fine for the game as should Banks. Ojulari is dealing with a soft tissue injury so let's see how he comes through Wednesday's treatment.
Meanwhile, at the start of practice, cornerback Amani Oruwariye, who is on the practice squad, was carefully loaded onto a backboard and carted off the field. A Giants spokesperson said the cornerback suffered a neck injury during practice today.
Oruwariye had movement in all his extremities and was taken to Hackensack Medical Center for further evaluation. The results of the evaluation and testing were negative, and Oruwariye was cleared to return to the team’s facility.
