New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the team's 24-22 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

DeVito, a native of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, completed 17 of 21 passes (80.9 percent) in the game. In the second half, he finished 10 of 11 (90.9 percent) for 158 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. He also became the second undrafted rookie in the common-draft era (since 1967) with an 80+ completion percentage (minimum 15 attempts) in a game.

In addition to his passing yardage, DeVito finished with 71 rushing yards on ten carries, the 71 rushing yardage just shy of the 83 yards on the ground he recorded in his first five appearances. DeVito has also thrown 87 consecutive passes without an interception and didn't take a sack in the game.

In the 74 seasons since the NFL began tracking starting quarterbacks in 1950, DeVito became the first starter in league history to complete at least 80 percent of his passes, rush for 70+ yards, commit no turnovers, and take no sacks. He is the first Giants rookie quarterback to win three consecutive starts since Phil Simms won four in a row in 1979.

Since the 1970 merger, he is just the third undrafted rookie quarterback to win three starts in a season, joining Ed Rubbert, who won three strike-replacement games for Washington in 1987, and Pittsburgh’s Devlin Hodges in 2019.

DeVito is also the first undrafted rookie since 1967 with a 100+ rating in three straight starts. The last Giants quarterback with three straight games with 20+ attempts and a 100+ passer rating was Eli Manning (September 21 to October 5, 2014. DeVito is the first Giants rookie quarterback to accomplish the feat.
