The Giants signed free agent defensive back Terrell Sinkfield, who was with the team for its Wednesday practice.

The 28-year-old Sinkfield stands 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds. A native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, he played his college ball lin Northern Iowa.

Sinkfield originally signed with the Dolphins after going undrafted in 2013. He was waived by Miami a month later and then signed with the Packers on June 11, 2013, but was again waived a month later.

Sinkfield spent less than a month with the Bills later that year. He also had a quick cup of coffee with the Giants, who signed him August 21 only to waive him four days later.

The following year, he tried his luck in the CFL, signing with the Toronto Argonauts and then, after that didn't work out, with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, with whom he found some success as a punt returner and receiver.

Sinkfield hoped to parlay his CFL success into an NFL career, signing a reserve/future contract with the Vikings in January 2016, but he was cut by the team at the end of training camp. He then went back to the CFL, playing for the BC Lions before getting yet another chance with the Vikings in 2017, only to come up short on  his quest for a roster spot.

Sinkfield got another chance with the NFL, this time with the Jets, who signed him to their practice squad on September 4, 2017. the following year, Sinkfield was among the final roster cuts made.

He then had stints with the Raiders, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL and the Orlando Apollos of the AAF, who waived him on March 4, 2019.

Sinkfield has experience as a punt returner and wide receiver, but he'll be listed as a defensive back for the Giants.
