Rough Opening Week for Giants Daniel Jones, Jets Aaron Rodgers

It wasn't the best opening week for the New York Giants and New York Jets quarterbacks.

In the Giants' historically bad 40-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, Daniel Jones was under pressure 66.7 percent of the time, a league-high for Week 1. Jones absorbed seven sacks--nine if you count two others nullified by penalties--and was hit 12 times. He finished eight of 16 for 58 yards and one interception on those pass plays in which he was under pressure.

That said, Jones's beating could have been much worse, such as what his Jets counterpart, Aaron Rodgers, could be dealing with. Rodgers, who had dealt with a calf issue earlier in the summer, was sacked on the third play of the Jets opening drive in their Monday night game against Buffalo and appeared to get his leg caught underneath him.

He got up and then quickly sat down, needing help to get off the field and to the blue medical tent. From there, he was carted back to the Jets locker room and was ruled out with an ankle injury.

The abuse of both quarterbacks only emphasizes the issues each team has had with its respective offensive line, proving that it doesn't matter who's behind center if the pass protection isn't up to snuff.
