NFL Insider Uncovers Interesting League Views of DeAndre Hopkins

In this story:
Now that the Arizona Cardinals have made receiver DeAndre Hopkins a free agent by granting him his release, the thought was that teams around the league with the salary cap space to spare and need a No. 1 receiver might be preparing to pounce.
Thus far, that hasn't been the case, though it's unclear how much of the fact that Hopkins hired new representation is a part of that. But SI.com's NFL insider Albert Breer recently gathered a few interesting nuggets into how some in the league potentially view Hopkins, and some of those opinions aren't exactly favorable.
Among the items Breer revealed included the Chiefs and Bills were the two teams that took advantage of the Cardinals having granted Hopkins permission to seek a trade, and the initially steep asking price Arizona wanted for the soon-to-be 31-year-old receiver: a second-round pick and another asset but by the end.
But the most interesting revelations uncovered by Breer is what some team executives around the league thought of the receiver, the opinions split.
Per Breer, one veteran team executive opined that Hopkins doesn't have much left in the tank and "can’t run anymore.”
Yet another opined that Hopkins was still a good player and "still a threat." And a third, whom Breer only would say was from an AFC team, told him that Hopkins still has great hands, but "he is not going to separate, is not much of a deep threat, but very strong, and makes contested catches as well as anyone in the NFL.”
That executive also added that Hopkins "does not love to practice," adding there were concerns about the potential for drama if things didn't go well but that Hopkins "always shows up on game day."
Yikes!
It's unclear if the New York Giants, who already have 14 receivers on their roster and not a lot of salary cap space to court Hopkins, want the receiver.
The most likely scenario is that the Giants will remain patient and go with what they have on their roster, hoping that someone develops into the No. 1 receiver this team hasn't had since Odell Beckham, Jr.
