Jay Glazer Reveals Huge Trade Package Eagles Offered Cowboys for Micah Parsons

Jerry Jones balked at trading the perennial All-Pro within the NFC East division.

The Cowboys shocked the NFL world last month when, just weeks ahead of the regular season, they decided to trade star pass rusher Micah Parsons to their NFC rivals in the Packers. The deal sent two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark to Dallas in exchange for the 26-year-old Parsons, though the team reportedly fielded a competitive offer from a division rival.

It was reported last week that the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles made a "strong" push to trade for Parsons. According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the offer included at least two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a fifth-round pick:

"The team that actually threw in the biggest offer was the Philadelphia Eagles," Glazer shared on Fox's NFL pregame show on Sunday. "For two ones, a three, a five, amongst other things. Obviously didn't want to trade him in the division. But the Green Bay Packers, they chimed in early, they kept with it, and Kenny Clark is what made the difference for Dallas."

Glazer added that Dallas was hoping to trade Parsons to the AFC, but they couldn't get any traction from any team in the conference.

While it certainly would have been fascinating to see Parsons square off against Dallas this past Thursday night in Philly, what's done is done, and he's now in Green Bay. The two-time All-Pro is set to make his Packers debut on Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions.
