Michael Brockers Believes Lions 'Definitely' Can Be Playoff Team in 2022

In this story:
With the Detroit Lions' 3-13-1 finish to the 2021 campaign, the team's rabid fanbase has now suffered through four consecutive losing seasons.
Over that same span, the Lions have gone a combined 17-46-2.
The organization's fans are tired of losing -- and rightfully so. They want to see the franchise be turned into a winner by Detroit general manager Brad Holmes, and they don't want to see the present rebuild be dragged out over multiple years.
These fans, which haven't witnessed the Lions record a single playoff victory since the 1991 NFL season, want immediate results and want Detroit to be turned into a contender overnight.
Additionally, there's now even more desire for it to happen, after the Cincinnati Bengals' rather swift turnaround that has resulted in them reaching the Super Bowl just two years removed from a 2-14 finish. The Bengals also were a 4-11-1 squad in 2020.
It's going to take a lot for the Lions to experience a similarly quick turnaround, namely the franchise acquiring a signal-caller of the ilk of Bengals passer Joe Burrow. As you can imagine, that won't be easy.
At least one current Lions player, though, believes the team can take the next step and become a playoff squad in 2022: defensive end Michael Brockers.
Brockers, who will be watching his former team, the Los Angeles Rams, compete for the chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy Sunday, expressed as much during an appearance on "The Jim Rome Show" Tuesday.
"Definitely. ... We were in a lot of games, where we lost in situations the young guys haven’t seen before. … We’ll be a better team from those losses," Brockers said.
Speaking of the NFC champion Rams, Brockers admitted that he's happy for his former teammates getting to the Super Bowl.
"You know, I'm happy for my guys, I'm happy," Brockers said. "I'm in a great place. The city of Detroit is awesome, the fans are awesome. And, I really want to get this thing turned around for them."
