Bryce Young and Offensive Starters to Play in Preseason Finale

In this story:
As Frank Reich alluded to on Sunday, the Carolina Panthers will play their starters in Friday's preseason finale against the Detroit Lions. At least the offensive side of the ball that is.
"We're planning on playing him [Bryce Young]. Sometimes a lot of teams won't play their starters in the last preseason game. We're going to play Bryce and play our offensive starters. Still want to get more reps. I think we had about 20 last week or something like that. It's kind of TBD again. It could be about the same. It could be a little bit less. It could be a little bit more. I'd like to get a little rhythm going, accomplish certain things."
Some fans have questioned the coaching staff's decision to limit Young in preseason action instead of rolling him out there for a half or three quarters to gain more experience before the ball kicks off in Atlanta. Reich addressed the reasoning behind Young's preseason usage on Monday.
"I feel he'll be ready. He's very accomplished mentally, maturity-wise. It's always that healthy tension of getting him enough reps and exposing them to undo risk of injury. And honestly, especially last week when you go up against that defensive scheme we went up against last week where it's a blitz fast, how much of it is worth it? It's great to prepare for it and to go through the mental exercise of we got to get ready for all these blitzes, but it's just risk reward on how much do you play [him]."
