Panthers Schedule Prediction for Week 1

Guessing who the Carolina Panthers may see in the 2023 season opener.

This Thursday, the NFL will release the 2023 schedule for all 32 teams. We already know who the Carolina Panthers will see this season, we just don't know when.

Here are the Panthers' opponents:

Home: Buccaneers, Falcons, Saints, Packers, Vikings, Texans, Colts, Cowboys.

Away: Buccaneers, Falcons, Saints, Bears, Lions, Jaguars, Titans, Seahawks, Dolphins.

Week 1 prediction: Houston Texans

It makes too much sense. Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud, the first two picks of the draft battling in the first game of the season will draw a fair amount of eyes. A quarterback being selected with the top two picks in the draft has only occurred nine times in the modern era. These two quarterbacks will be tied together throughout their entire careers, so why not have their debuts in the same stadium?

Bonus prediction: Indianapolis Colts

Although it won't be in Indianapolis, it will still be an emotional pregame for Panthers head coach Frank Reich, who spent the last six seasons as the head man for the Colts. The NFL likes storylines like this to begin the season, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if this were the matchup. Just think of last year's home opener when the Panthers and Baker Mayfield welcomed in the Cleveland Browns.
