Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort announced via Twitter on Thursday that it has entered into a five-year deal to become an official sponsor of Carolina Panthers.

The arrangement was first reported Monday by the Cherokee One Feather newspaper. Brian Saunooke, the regional vice-president of marketing for Harrah’s Cherokee, said the partnership will be touted through television and radio. He said Harrah's Cherokee brands receiving on-air mentions as well as logo visibility during the pregame shows as well as in-game and postgame presence. Saunooke also said the casino, which is located in eastern North Carolina, will receive naming rights for the Panther's Champions Village hospitality area.

Carolina's deal with Harrah's Cherokee comes on the heals of another marriage between an NFL team and a casino resort.

The Arizona Cardinals announced last month a 15-year deal with Gila River Hotels & Casinos as the NFL team’s official hotel and casino partner. And the NFL Caesars Entertainment as an official sponsor in January.
