In this story:

Dave Canales informed Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown last week that he would not be retained, but Brown already began looking around for jobs and now, he has one.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Brown is being hired by the Chicago Bears to serve as the pass game coordinator.

Brown will reunite with Shane Waldron, who was hired as the Bears' new offensive coordinator last week. The two spent one year together on Sean McVay's staff in Los Angeles back in 2020.

In his lone season with the Panthers, Brown's unit ranked toward the bottom of the league in just about every category thanks to a struggling offensive line, lack of separation from its receivers, and a rookie quarterback having multiple voices in his ear.

Brown still has a bright future as a coach in this league and should not be docked for what transpired this past year in Carolina.
