IR 'Is an Option' and Surgery 'Is On the Table' for Panthers CB Jaycee Horn

In this story:
At some point, you got to really feel for the kid. Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn is expected to miss an "extended period of time" with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Frank Reich.
"We're still kind of working through that. He's working through getting other opinions and just seeing the full extent of it. It is a serious hamstring injury. He's going to be out for a while, for an extended period of time. Still don't have enough information to kind of give a definitive statement on exactly what's going to be the course of action with him. Hopefully, we get that answer in the next day or two."
Reich told reporters Wednesday afternoon that placing Horn on injured reserve "is an option" but it is "not a definite by any stretch." Reich also said that surgery "is on the table."
"It's just one of those freak things, Reich stated. "You just never know. And he knew right away. Like, I could tell as soon as I got out there he kind of felt it pop. So he kind of knew right from the start that it probably wasn't going to be good."
Horn has played in just 17 of the possible 35 regular season games the Panthers have played since he entered the league in 2021. When it comes to replacing the production of the former first-round pick, they could look to add to the group but will likely start CJ Henderson.
"We'll work through that rotation this week. We'll be at 52 on the roster. It's likely we might add another corner to get to 53 to get the depth we need in there. But happy with CJ [Henderson]. Happy with Troy [Hill], with Donte [Jackson] that whole contingent."
