Report: Panthers Plan to Sign Former Bears RB Tarik Cohen

In this story:
The Carolina Panthers could use a power back, but instead of filling that need, they are expected to add to the speed of the room with former Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Panthers plan to sign Cohen to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Former Bears’ RB Tarik Cohen, who has not played in the NFL since suffering ACL and MCL tears as well as a tibial plateau fracture in September 2020, plans to sign Wednesday to the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha.

In 51 career games, Cohen has rushed for 1,101 yards and five touchdowns on 264 carries. He has also hauled in 209 receptions for 1,575 yards and nine touchdowns. Given the team's lack of speed, he could be someone they would like to flex out to receiver on occasion.
Cohen is a native of Bunn, North Carolina, and played his college ball at North Carolina A&T.
