Panthers Sign O-Lineman to Active Roster, Make a Handful of Other Moves

Carolina made some roster moves on Monday.

Following the Week 1 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers shuffled up the back end of the roster a little bit.

Monday afternoon, Carolina signed offensive lineman David Sharpe (practice squad) to the 53-man roster. Sharpe, viewed as a swing tackle, was a fourth-round draft pick out of Florida by the Raiders. He's appeared in 37 career games, notching six starts. Sharpe served two stints with the Raiders (2017, 2018-19) while also spending time with the Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, and Baltimore Ravens.

As far as practice squad moves go, the Panthers signed former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman, Chris Wormley. In 13 games with the Steelers last season, Wormley recorded 29 tackles, three tackles for loss, one QB hit, 0.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.

The team also signed free agent cornerback Dicaprio Bootle, who appeared in seven games with the Kansas City Chiefs over the last two seasons. Defensive lineman Taylor Stallworth was released, giving Carolina an open spot on the practice squad.
