BREAKING: Panthers to Sign Safety Vonn Bell

In this story:
For the second time today, the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with a free agent on the defensive side of the ball. Earlier today, it was defensive lineman Shy Tuttle. Now, they do so with safety Vonn Bell, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Bell returns to the NFC South where he spent the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints from 2016-19. After his rookie deal came to an end, he left The Big Easy and signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. In three seasons with Cincy, Bell recorded 288 tackles, 21 pass breakups, 12 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, five interceptions, and four fumble recoveries.
Panthers GM Scott Fitterer mentioned earlier this offseason that adding a safety was certainly a possibility as they try to figure out the best way to use Jeremy Chinn long-term. This signing gives Carolina some flexibility on what to do with the talented do-it-all star.
