Yetur Gross-Matos Designated to Return from IR

Carolina is set to get some more help on defense.

On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers designated outside linebacker Yetur Gross-Matos to return from injured reserve, opening a 21-day window.

Gross-Matos was playing well before the hamstring injury considering the position change inside this 3-4 scheme. He had totaled 14 tackles, five QB hits, three tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in six games.

Back in training camp, Gross-Matos told AllPanthers.com that he didn't believe the scheme switch would hinder his production and made it clear that the Panthers didn't need to go out and get help at his position.

"I don't block it out at all. It's a great motivator. I've played here for a while. I've had good games and I've had games where I could have been a lot better. My goal is to go out there and improve every day and I want to prove people wrong.

"I want to be an all-around dominant player. I want people to respect my name. People go to social media and say we need a second pass rusher and stuff like that. I want people to have respect on my name."
