Panthers Provide Update on Chandler Zavala

In this story:
A scary scene took place at Ford Field Sunday afternoon in the first quarter of a game between the Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.
Panthers rookie left guard Chandler Zavala injured his neck after being thrown to the ground by Isaiah Buggs (a clean play), who was fighting off the block. Zavala collided with the side of receiver Adam Thielen before going to the ground.
Zavala had to be placed on a board and carted off the field to be taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. As he was leaving the field, Zavala gave a thumbs-up to the crowd at Ford Field to signal that he was okay.
Moments ago, the Panthers provided an update on Zavala's condition.
"Zavala remains at an area hospital. He is alert and has movement in all his extremities."
