For the first six quarters of the preseason, the Carolina Panthers showed very little and because of it, didn't impress all that much offensively. In the second half of this weekend's game against the New York Giants, the offense came to life and nearly completed a come-from-behind victory.

Through two games, rookie quarterback Bryce Young has completed 7/12 pass attempts for 56 yards routinely making good decisions with the ball despite having constant pressure in his face.

In his postgame press conference, head coach Frank Reich said he was unsure of what the plan would be for his rookie QB and the starters in the preseason finale on Friday against the Lions.

Sunday afternoon, he hinted that it could be similar to what we saw in the first two games.

"Haven't totally nailed it down," said Reich. "Still talking to the coaches about that. Scott [Fitterer] and I visited for a while last night just talking about the plan for this game. Getting closer to finalizing that plan. But I would anticipate it'll be similar to what we've done the last two games, but again we'll kind of work out the details here in the next 24 hours."

Because of the starting offensive unit not having loads of success, it may not be a bad idea to give them a couple drives against Detroit. They started each of the last two games with a three and out, so giving them another chance makes sense.

Reich is pleased with where the team is at, but knows there's a lot of work that needs to be done.

"Obviously, we're not going to really know until we get to the regular season. But I feel good about every step of the process. About what we're doing in practice, in the meetings, in every phase, in every area. Feel like we've made good progress as far as cleaning up details of what it takes to play winning football. Until you get to the regular season, you don't really fully know until your tested in every way."
