BREAKING: Panthers to Sign DT DeShawn Williams

Carolina adds another big man up front.

Defensive tackle and Central, South Carolina native DeShawn Williams has agreed to terms on a deal with the Carolina Panthers, the team announced Wednesday evening.

After the Bengals released him in 2016, Williams bounced around a little bit on practice squads with Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Miami, before finding a home in Denver.

In 15 starts this season, Williams tallied 37 tackles, eight QB hits, 4.5 sacks, and four tackles for loss. He becomes the second defensive lineman the Panthers have added in free agency this offseason, joining Shy Tuttle.
