In this story:

How the pre-draft process in 2016 (Carson Wentz) with Philly helps him this year

"It's different. But for me, having been in that process there's a lot that's similar, but it's not all similar. It's tweaked a little bit. But just going through that process and knowing to be patient. You might see a throw or you might sit down with guys and wow, I love this guy. And you could be tempted to say this is our guy. Just finish the process. Just be patient. We've got time. You don't have to make this decision today. Stay true to the process."

What he learned about C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, and Anthony Richardson last week

"A lot of it was confirmation because our scouts do such a good job on the front end. We sat down back in our building talking about each of these guys and listening to the scouts give their take on each of these guys. So, you already go in having some idea of what you're walking into. But I would say in all the right ways, it was confirmation. Scott's said this, I've said this, all of these guys at the top are worthy of being in this discussion."

How D.J. Chark fits into this offense

"Make no mistake about it, I really wanted DJ. A lot of us did. I've had my eye on him for a couple years now. I think DJ is a down-the-field threat. I think he's a very competitive, hard-working player from all of the intel that we've gathered. And if you look at his career even though there's been some injuries along the way, he's consistently producing over 14 yards a catch. That's not a mistake. To do that year in and year out, you need that in your offense. You need those chunk plays and he's been a proven chunk play. He's going through his process of rehab from the injury that he had and the procedure that he had done. And we're very optimistic that the procedure that he had done is going to be a good story. That it's going to clean up the issue that he's been fighting for a couple years and really give him the best chance to stay on the field. I think he'll be ready for part of OTAs. The last time I talked with the docs, there's a chance he will get into the action. I can't remember the exact timetable."

More on Chark

"We're going to expand his role. We want to develop him into a complete receiver. Widen his route tree. It's not just going to be all vertical stuff down the field. We feel like we've got one. of the best wide receiver coaches in the business in Shawn Jefferson and Shawn will do a good job working with those guys."

How much of a role assistants played in recruiting certain free agents

"Played a big role. I think I saw something out there highlighting Duce's role because Duce was with DJ [Chark]. He and Thomas Brown and Josh [McCown] and Shawn [Jefferson], I think they all put a full-court press on him to recruit him. But obviously, Duce being with DJ last year, that was a big deal. Duce is a very compelling figure, a straight shooter. And that's what the players want."

How he evaluates Anthony Richardson with his upside and inconsistencies

"He's an exciting player. Even before the combine watching his tape, there are plays and throws all over the tape that scream top pick. That's a credit to him. I think he has upper-body mechanics that are really solid. Obviously, his completion percentage is lower than you want at this level, but I don't get too discouraged at things like that.
