Three Panthers Ratings Madden Got Right & Two They Got Wrong

Madden got it right for the most part, but they weren't 100% spot-on in their evaluation of the Panthers' roster.

In this story:

Madden 24 ratings are officially out and this is the time of year when you'll see a bunch of players around the league voice their frustration with the "disrespect" of their overall rating.

Here are three Panthers Madden ratings they got right and two they got wrong.

What they got right

QB Bryce Young - 74 OVR

Madden is typically harsh on rookie quarterbacks and although we all knew Young would be the highest-rated, we didn't know if he would get the respect he deserves. I predicted him as a 74 overall to begin his career, mainly due to his accuracy, IQ, and overall readiness for this level.

LT Ikem Ekwonu - 79 OVR

I was unsure if the Madden rating adjustors would give Ekownu much of a bump, if one at all. But they hit this spot on with Ickey, giving him a 79, which I also predicted. He's one of the best young tackles in the game and will likely play his way to an 82-83 rating by the end of the season.

CB Jaycee Horn - 83 OVR

I predicted Horn at an 83, but thought there was a chance he would be a notch or two higher. There's no question the talent and skill is there for Horn to be a top five corner in the league. The injuries are a bit of a concern, though.

What they got wrong

C Bradley Bozeman - 72 OVR

Bradley Bozeman a 72? Come on, man. What are we doing here? You mean to tell me after what he did last season he DROPPED two overall points? I'd love to hear the explanation behind this one because I'm at a loss for words.

LOLB Brian Burns - 87 OVR

I had Burns at a 90 overall. And quite frankly, I don't know what else he needs to do to get there other than go on a rampage and get 20 sacks. For much of his career, he's had no help on the other side and a bunch of young guys playing inside. I would also think that moving to outside linebacker would help his overall too. Swing and a miss here on Burns.
