Will Bryce Young Return to Practice This Week?

In this story:
All attention will be on the status of Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback throughout the week as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury.
Young did not play in Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks but there is a chance he returns to action this week. Last week, head coach Frank Reich relayed the doctors' message to the media that it doesn't appear to be a serious injury and should only take 1-2 weeks to heal.
Monday afternoon, Reich was asked if he believes the former number one overall pick is expected to practice on Wednesday.
"Don't know yet. We'll see how tomorrow goes and on Wednesday, we'll give you an update then. But I know he's done everything possible to put himself in position to [practice]. I talked to him Sunday for a little bit and he said he's felt better every day, so I'm encouraged by that."
After struggling in his first two NFL games, watching the game from the sideline and watching veteran Andy Dalton operate could pay off whenever he does return.
"Whatever was set up for Bryce to gain out of this week, I know he gained every ounce of what he could gain by watching Andy, by watching our offense, by watching our team," Reich stated. He was dialed into kind of learn from that whole process."
Dalton carved up the Seahawks' defense throwing for 361 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 58 pass attempts. If he remains the starter for next Sunday's game against Minnesota, the Panthers feel good about their chances.
"I did think that Andy handled the pass game pretty well," Reich said. " He made a lot of good throws. We made some plays in the pass game. I thought giving 58 attempts and here -- there are times the protection broke down, but it wasn't horrible. I have to look at the tape, but in many ways, I thought Andy was pretty solid. I thought Andy did a lot of good things."
