Both the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears are going to be without a few players for this week's Thursday night showdown, mainly because of it being a short week.

Carolina linebacker Brian Burns and cornerback CJ Henderson are each ruled out due to being in the concussion protocol and although it would still be unlikely they would be cleared and available by Sunday, having the game on Thursday gave them no chance.

For the Bears, they'll be without starting quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) once again as he has not been medically cleared yet. However, he has not been officially ruled out and is listed as doubtful. Chicago head coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday afternoon that Tyson Bagent will get the start.

"He is progressing every day. He is not medically cleared yet. Bagent will be our starter for this game and (Nathan) Peterman will back him up."

Bagent has played in each of the Bears last four games, starting the last three. In his three starts, Bagent has completed 64/96 for 614 yards three touchdowns and five interceptions.
