In this story:

Monday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers designated cornerback Jaycee Horn (hamstring) and tight end Ian Thomas (calf) to return from injured reserve, opening a 21-day window to be activated.

Horn suffered his injury in the season-opener in Atlanta has been out ever since. The former first round pick has only appeared in 17 of the possible 43 games since entering the league. This offseason, the Panthers will have to make a decision on his fifth-year option and if he is unable to stay on the field, that could make for a challenge decision for GM Scott Fitterer and the Carolina front office.

Thomas has played in five games this season for the Panthers, primarily being used as an extension of the offensive line as a blocker. He's recorded just two receptions for 36 yards on the year.
