Panthers Name Adrian Wilson VP of Player Personnel

In this story:
Earlier this month, the Carolina Panthers parted ways with Vice President of Player Personnel, Pat Stewart. On Monday, the team announced that they have agreed to terms with Adrian Wilson to fill that role.
Wilson is a native of High Point, North Carolina and played his college ball at North Carolina State from 1998-2000. He was a third round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2001, where he spent the first twelve years of his career. During his time in the desert, Wilson recorded 903 tackles, 81 tackles for loss, 37 QB hits, 27 interceptions, 25.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, and eight fumble recoveries. He earned five Pro Bowl selections and finished fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2005. He signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots in 2013 but suffered a season-ending Achilles injury which led to his release in 2014.
Wilson then returned to the Cardinals' organization to get his start in the next chapter of his life as a regional scout in 2015. He served in that role for four years before being promoted to Director of Pro Scouting in 2019 and then onto Vice President of Pro Scouting in 2021.
He does have some familiarity with Panthers head coach, Frank Reich, who was the wide receivers coach in Arizona during Wilson's final season playing with the Cardinals in 2012.
