Panthers Place WR Laviska Shenault Jr. on Injured Reserve

In this story:
Thursday morning, the Carolina Panthers placed wide receiver/running back Laviska Shenault Jr. on injured reserve with an ankle injury, meaning he will be out at least the next four weeks.
Shenault suffered an ankle injury against Miami but because of the severity of the injury and a bye week following that game, the Panthers decided to keep him on the active roster. Had they put him on IR then, they would have to either leave him active now or put him on season-ending IR.
Shenault was expected to have a big role in this offense but has not seen many opportunities when healthy. He's caught 10 passes for 60 yards and has rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries.
The Panthers are now down to 49 players on the active roster.
