In this story:

J.J. Jansen has seen a lot during his time with the Carolina Panthers and he's about to be included in yet another era of football with new head coach Frank Reich. The Panthers announced on Monday that they have agreed to terms with the veteran long snapper on a one-year deal.

This past season, Jansen broke the franchise record for most career games played (226) and according to Darin Gantt of Panthers.com, Jansen wants to play four more seasons. If he is able to do so, that record may never be broken. And in all honesty, no one may ever sniff the 226 he has under his belt already.

Jansen has played for John Fox, Ron Rivera, Perry Fewell (interim), Matt Rhule, Steve Wilks (interim), and now, Reich. Although long snappers doesn't get a lot of attention, he's a key piece to the special teams unit. Similar to offensive linemen, the less you hear his name, the better.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Jansen and punter Johnny Hekker were each named to the NFLPA's Top 3 All-Pro Specialists list.
