Developers at EA Sports continue to release small groups of player ratings on the anticipated new release of Madden 21.

We will continue to dig a bit deeper on the Raider first-round selections and other notable players in the game.

Next one up is the Raiders' second selection in the first-round (19th overall), cornerback Damon Arnette.

When the Raiders were on the clock for the second time in the first round last April, no one but Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden knew who the Raiders were going to select.

While many think the developers at Madden are having a bit of a rollercoaster with their ratings, Arnette's score should come at no surprise.

Madden 21 ratings

Arnette comes in with a 70 overall rating, tied as the fifth-best rookie cornerback of this year's draft.

As mentioned before by NFL Hall of Famer Chris Carter, Arnette was dealing with a back and hamstring injuries during the combine, which contributed to the fact that he ran a slower time than expected.

His 88-speed rating shows that the developers considered his 40-yard dash, but made up for it by giving him an 87 acceleration, 88 agility, and 88 jump rating.

Arnette allowed one touchdown as a cornerback in his four-year career at Ohio State.

The developers over at Madden gave him a rating of 71 in man coverage, 72 zone coverage, and a 77 press coverage.

Arnette might have been snubbed for a few points, but overall his grade selection has room to improve.

The Raiders fourth-round (139 overall) pick, Amik Robertson cracked the top 10 rookie cornerback list with an overall rating of 68, not too far behind from Arnette's rating.

Arnette's former teammate and Detroit Lions' third-overall pick, cornerback Jeff Okudah, ranked first among rookie cornerbacks with an overall rating of 76.

Let's hope Arnette can overcome the criticism and perform better than his former teammate this upcoming season.
