Raiders Could Have Most Draft Picks Since 1988

In this story:
As it stands now, the Las Vegas Raiders will be one of the most represented teams in next month's NFL Draft.
With the Darren Waller trade officially settled, the Raiders have 12 picks in this year's draft, a height the franchise has not reached in almost 35 years.
The last time the Raiders had that many picks was in the 1988 NFL Draft, when the Silver and Black had a bizarre 13 picks.
That draft included franchise legends such as Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Tim Brown and five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Terry McDaniel.
The Raiders' first pick in this year's draft will be the seventh overall.
The Raiders have a second-round pick, No. 38, and two third-round picks, No. 70, and the 100th overall pick they received from the New York Giants as part of the Waller trade.
Las Vegas also has a fourth-round pick, No. 109, and three fifth-round picks, starting with No. 141.
Its second pick in that round, No. 144, is the pick they received from the Atlanta Falcons last year as part of the Bryan Edwards trade.
The Raiders' third pick of the fifth round, No. 174, is one of two compensatory picks they were awarded earlier this month.
The second compensatory pick will be their second of the sixth round, No. 214. Their first pick that round, No. 204, is the pick they received from the Dallas Cowboys as part of the Johnathan Hankins trade last October.
Las Vegas' two picks in the seventh round are from the Arizona Cardinals, No. 220, as part of the Trayvon Mullen trade, and the New England Patriots, No. 231, as part of the Jarrett Stidham trade.
The Raiders have twice as many picks as they did in last year's draft.
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo.
The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period began at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
